  • Is therapeutic massage painful?
Therapeutic massage is not necessarily painful but can feel intense depending on how tense or stiff your muscles are. Throughout the massage, firm pressure is used, which may be adjusted based on what I feel, such as increased tightness, knots, or taut bands of muscle. Communication is key, so please let me know if the pressure needs to be adjusted. If you have any concerns, feel free to discuss them before the session.
  • How often should I get massages?
The frequency of massage depends on your individual needs and goals. In general: For maintenance and wellness: Once a month. For athletic, highly active individuals: Weekly or biweekly. For chronic pain and high-stress individuals: Weekly or biweekly. Regular massages can help maintain your overall well-being and address specific issues more effectively.
  • What should I expect at my first massage?
For many clients, the first massage can be anxiety-inducing and exciting at the same time. Generally, the session will begin with a brief consultation highlighting areas of concern and a goal. During the massage, I will check in with you regarding pressure, comfort, and temperature. After the massage, I will allow feedback and discuss anything I noticed.
